Graham Ashlock
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Graham spent his childhood surfing and free diving along the coast. His obsession with boats began while studying biology at UC Berkeley, where he taught sailing, raced on the university team and bought his first sailboat which he lived on while finishing his studies. Shortly after graduating, Graham met his future wife who is also an avid sailor. They left aboard their 34’ sailboat for a 6-month cruise to Mexico that lasted seven years and took them 25,000+ nautical miles throughout the Pacific. Since returning to Santa Barbara, Graham has logged more than 1,500 days exploring the Channel Islands as a professional captain. During his 20+ years at sea, he has also captained expedition vessels as large as 130 feet in French Polynesia, the Pitcairn Islands, New Zealand, Mexico, and elsewhere in the world. Despite (or perhaps because of) his depth of experience, the Channel Islands are still his favorite place in the world. Graham currently holds a USCG 500-ton ocean master's (captain's) license. Equally comfortable behind the tiller of a small sailing dinghy as at the helm of a large motor yacht, his enthusiasm and experience leave him well prepared to take you on your next adventure.
Quincy Briscoe
Raised in the hills of southern Oregon, Quincy learned to sail on a 16’ Hobie Cat on the high mountain lakes. The cold winters up north and the warm climate of the lower latitudes pulled him down to Southern California where he began racing small dingy boats as well as larger racing yachts. After Quincy earned his USCG 100-ton ocean master’s (captain’s) and ASA 201, 203,204,205, & 214 Instructor licenses he sailed the coast of Santa Barbara and the outer Channel Islands for a number of years. He also has several longer yacht deliveries from San Francisco to the southern tip of Baja Mexico under his belt. When the water was still not warm enough for his liking, he made his way to the Hawaiian Islands and captained 65’ catamarans off of the west side of Maui, for daily sailing and snorkel trips. The Yacht Week called his name next where he sailed with 40-100 other yachts through the peppered islands off the coast of Croatia. The Caribbean shortly followed where he ran eight-day instructional charters for multiple seasons. However, the Santa Barbara coast and its offshore Channel Islands have and will always bring him back for they consistently amaze him with the amount of sea life and excellent sailing conditions.
Hannah Hinson
As a native of North Carolina, Hannah now calls Santa Barbara home. She first fell in love with the beautiful coastline while on a Pacific Coast Highway road trip. The magic of the American Riviera never left her so she decided to make the move to the West Coast in 2019. With a graduate business school degree and a keen eye for detail, Hannah is the glue that binds SB Captains together. She will likely be the friendly voice you hear for the first time when booking a charter or the helping hand while coordinating your coastal Santa Barbara adventure.
